week 6 #4

The sound scape needed a little work because it didn't sound as smooth as we wanted it to be. Our idea is for it to be like the sound project we did in this class. We want the viewers to be able to close their eyes and know exactly what is happening. To me the sound scape didn't do that. And at first I thought maybe its because we haven't put it over the scene yet but it isn't supposed to need that. We are supposed to be able to create an atmosphere with sound not video. So we are tweaking it a little bit. Hopefully filming will be done by Tuesday So we can have the rest of the week to finish off the project.

week 6 #3

Sebas come back today and Im very excited for them to start filming and figuring stuff out. Im about to loose wifi any second now but let me say this really quickly. Sebas and Mery said they are going to my house to pick up the wallet picture/ bookmark and also check on my dog. Then they will go to Ellas and start filming. We called ahead and asked if we would be allowed to film in there and they say dyes so hopefully they don't change their mind or else they will be screwed. Mery friend is also meeting up with them because she will play my "look alike" that walks into the coffee shop and triggers the flashback. If I keep getting updates I will let you guys know. I come back tomorrow so the vlog for the meadow scene will be up and I'm highboy excited for that. ITS COMING TOGETHER GUYS!!

week 6 #2

The sound scape is almost done and My trip is going by so slow. Its kind of hard to focus because I'm so stressed on this project. I am doing all these blog postings on my phone because I was not allowed to bring my laptop so thats already difficult enough. I also BARELY have wifi. Sebas gets back soon so Im just waiting for them to finally start. Mery has bough all the special affects makeup needed for a particular scene and got a book that we would be able to use for the coffee shop scene. Honestly props to her she is doing a lot now that Im not in the county.

CAN WE GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR HER! 

week 6

Trinidad is soooooooo much fun and VERY HOT. I FEEL LIKE IM DYING!!!!

I just got some news that gave me a mini panic attack. Sebas, our guy actor, had to take an emergency trip to Chicago and won't be back until Friday. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Mery and I now have to plan out another schedule for us to film. 

Sebas will be back Friday so when he gets back, either Friday evening or Saturday during the day, they will go to Ellas cafe and film the coffee shop scene. That won't be too hard. 

Then I get back Saturday evening so Sunday all day, Mery and I will be at Markham park filming all day. (I want that blog posting to be a vlog.)

Hopefully we will be done by late Sunday evening so we have Sunday night to start adding the sound scapes to the scenes. Then Tuesday we have ALLLLLLL DAY (because the 9th and 10th graders have testing) so we will HOPEFULLY have everything edited and ready to work on the last part of the project. 

Fingers crossed this all goes as planned because if it doesn't I might cry... No actually I will cry. 

                  

week 5 #4

As I said before, the story board was a rough idea with just KEY parts of our opening scene. I also mentioned Mery and I though it would be a little over time and I was right. She started playing the timing and it was a little too long so a lot of our little details have to be either tweaked or cut altogether. I am sitting in the beach house right now kind of stressing but she sent me the new and improved story board and is a lot better where timing is concerned.

week 5 #3

During one of the scenes, actually most if the scenes, a picture of the girl in the meadow scene will be present. The guy will have the picture on him as a book mark but also as a meaningful item. Seeing this picture and then seeing the meadow scene will allow our audience to use the 2+2 method and put together the fact that the girl in the picture is very meaningful to him ad something obviously happened to her.

I will be the girl in the picture and the meadow scene. Although this scene isn't taking place in the 1800s so the picture will not be in black and white or anything, we are going to make it look oldish and make it look like the picture has been through a lot.

week 5 #2

We drew up a fresh VERY ROUGH story board but we think that it might be too long. This is just a rough idea because obviously somethings will work and some things won't. Everyone knows that it will be very unlikely that it works out perfectly on the first try. 

(I'm sorry you have to tilt your head, or device, whichever you decide) 

We just drew up the key parts of the entire scene but we still think with all the extra in between parts, it will be more than 2 mins so it will be cleaned up. We have a lot of in between ideas that will take place in between the key parts of these scenes. 

The sound scape is almost done but it can't be 100% ready unless we know exactly how long the scene is. It is all very stressful but it will work out. 

week 5

Life is sooooo unpredictable sometimes. Well it would of been predictable of we had just checked the weather. Mery and I were planning on filming this Monday because that was the only day this week we were both not busy. I leave on Sunday to Trinidad so that is such a huge disadvantage so Mery and I were like "Bro we should definitely film meadow scene on Monday" I was like "Bet". 

We walk up on a lovely Monday morning... and BOOM!

POURING RAIN 

Like NONE STOP. 

We will now have to film the meadow scene as soon as I get back on Saturday. Trust the Process 

week 4? update 4

We are almost done with the story board. It will definitely be done by next week. But I have a huge problem. Well not huge that exaggerating but its stressing us out. HERE'S WHY:

We are low-key stressing because I will be gone the entire spring break but fortunately, some of this can be shot without me there. I will be the girl in the flashback and the girl in the picture that's in the guys wallet. But I won't be physically present in the coffee shop at all so during spring break, the coffee shop scene can be done. Thats best case scenario we are talking here. Worst case scenario is the day I get back, which is Sunday morning, we shoot. I don't think that's as smart but we have to make it work.

UGH LIFE IS SOOOOOOOOOO STRESSFUL WOW

week 4? update 3

I'm so stupid. I forgot to mention Mery was in a different group and they gave her good ideas as well.
Not sure who gave this idea but they told her that during the very beginning when the credits are ending, they should be like a close up or just a quick shot of a very old picture of the girl, who is later on going to appear in the flashback, in his wallet. Obviously the audience is going to have to use the 2+2 method and put things together and realize that picture is going to have some significance to him in some way.

They also mentioned that the girl that walks into he coffee shop that reminds him of the girl in his flashback should not be the same actress but someone that looks similar because it makes it more believable which I understand. SO far though we are using this ideas to put together the overall scene so stay tuned.

week 4? update 2

So we just had another group meeting in class and yet again... it was amazing!!!!! 

I told my group that due to unpopular opinions, our scene had to bee tweaked a tiny bit and they helped a lot. One girl even wrote very detail of notes in a google doc for us #efficient #thankshasley

Richard was in my group and gave the idea that some of the war noises should be triggered from something happening in the coffee shop.
For example: the coffee beans being mixed can trigger the helicopter noise.

Thats just one of the many ideas Mery and I are gonna now incorporate into our scene, its coming together slowly but surely

Week 4? Update 1

So on Wednesday, it was our turn to discuss our project with the one and only TSTOK!!!!!!
We basically told her what we had in mind which obviously you guys know, is the dream sequence. She was very hesitant and asked a lot of questions which was not a sign.

Now keep in mind, I had previously mentioned to Mery that we should low-key turn this opening scene into a PSTD flashback.

Anyway, so I told Ms. Stoklosa about my thoughts on the ptsd flashback and she actually liked it. WOW. So in a nut shell we had to get ride of the story board and every single idea that we had before and start all over. Well not all over completely because the two ideas are very similar but they will now have different settings, for example: the dream sequence was being taken place in a bedroom (obviously because he's asleep) but now the ptsd flashback will take place in a coffee shop.

The girl in the meadow part is going to stay. Mery and I are both too passionate about that part to let it go but overall the scene needed tweaking because TSTOK said... and I quote " ahhh, a dream? sounds a bit cheesy" and we don't do cheesy so this needed to be done. Im actually more excited about this one than the one before. Time is limited though so we have to work extra hard since we started over with such little time left. Tomorrow we are having our group meetings again so I am excited to see what my fellow classmates have to offer.

week 3 update #4

Our scene will have a lot of background noises in it and some we CANNOT make ourselves. For example, police sirens. or bombs exploding. The human vocal cords don't have the talent for that. But not need to fear because a while back Mery and I (yes we work together on almost every project) did a sound project WHICH WAS SOOOOOO MUCH FUN might I add, and we got most of the sounds from a website and it was very interesting how we playing with the sounds; overlapping them, making some a higher frequency and others a lower frequency
                                                     



and that is exactly what we want to have in our opening scene now. During the nightmare, there will be overlapping sounds in the background that will give into the irony that we want to portray. Of course some sounds that are easy to recreate or do we will do them ourselves but the more complex ones we will have to use that website. No joke this will probably be my favorite part of the entire project.
                                                     

week 3 update #3

We are trying to put together our story board but tbh its kinda hard this time around. Like for the music video project, putting together the story board was a lot less complicated. Every time we try to put our ideas together, something doesn't make sense. Its getting super frustrating! But we will get through it. The thing is we want our scene to have irony in it and we have the base for our opening, its just finding something that ties it all in, makes the viewer want to watch more and BE IRONIC. And it has to be 2 mins I believe. UGH. The life of a film maker.

                    

week 3 update 2

Location is a key factor in this film opening. Mery and I have a vision that the girl on the dream will be running through meadow, but what's difficult is finding a meadow... IN WESTON. I mean it doesn't necessarily have to be in Weston but somewhere convenient, like Davie or Pembroke Pines.


What we want the actual scene to look like is a meadow or garden full of dandilions or some pretty flower like this :

There is one place in mind that could work. Mery and I filmed part of a music video in this location that could be used and work perfectly but we need to get it right at the peak when they are ABOUT to cut the grass. If we are a second too late, this location will not work because we can not film a meadow scene in a meadow with NO GRASS. so we shall see.

Week 3 update

Something weird happened today. As Mery and I were walking through the mall we were thinking of what the girl in the opening scene should wear. If she should wear a ling flow dress or just basic close because this is all part of her character development. Anyway, back to the story, so we walked into American Eagle and saw this picture on the wall.

This is the exact vision we have for our opening scene. Obviously there is only gonna be 1 girl in this part and she is gonna have pants on but I just found it crazy how we both as saw this as we mentioned it.  Now back to character development. We are trying to figure out how we can dress our main characters to help show their roles in the scene and what type of person they are etc. For the girl we either want like a flow dress like this or,
                                                  
just regular clothes showing that he is having a flashback during his dream rather than just a dream of her in a dress, if that makes any sense
                                                          

We are still trying to figure it all in great detail so stay patient! 

The end of week 2

So after consulting with my respective group member, Mery Ramirez, we both agreed that the ideas put forth during the group discussion in class were very much gonna be included within our project.

SO IF YOU WERE IN MY GROUP DURING CLASS, YES IM TALKING TO YOU, WE ARE MOST LIKELY GONNA USE YOUR IDEA. WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now we have been thinking about the actors. The opening scene is going to mainly include a guy and a girl and as we all know, Mery nor myself can play the guys part... OBVIOUSLY, so we have been asking around and might have found the perfect guy to play this part. He is in nice media as well and also has Stoklosa, How funny is that. Well anyways, if all goes well he will be our actor. OMG I almost forgot! okay so one of the ideas given to us was like the switch from a quick good dream to a nightmare and Mery and I thought it would be cool if during the fast pace editing of the dream that they will be filmed during different days. The good dream of the angelic girl will be filmed as sunset on a gorgeous day and the nightmare will be filmed on another day and will include special effects makeup from party city. Mery is super into halloween and all of that so she is most excited about that part. So that is what we have in mind as of right now. 

Tune in next week where Mery and I are going to start the story board to see exactly what we are going to do. Neither of us can draw so brace yourselves.

Fellow humans, We had a group discussion is class. 10/10 would recommend.

IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!

Tbh, I thought it would be weird and not effective because sometimes when I have group discussions everyone usually just agrees with me. But not this time folks.

Basically we all talked about our ideas for our final project. I got to hear such interesting ideas and got such good ideas in return.
So as you guys know Mery and I are doing thriller where our inspiration was the goofy movie opening. I shared that in my groups and told them that we wanted to do the film opening kinda like ironic. Its gonna be a beautiful scene with scary noises but my group gave me the idea that in the dream there should be quick flashes of something scary instead of the noise in the background which I kinda like. I have no idea if I am explaining this right so I will try to find an example on my best friend, ~YOUTUBE~ but it's hard to find what I'm looking for but I won't give up.
